And sometimes we realize that we were right. That there can be no turning back, no welcoming them into our lives again, no returning to past days. Sometimes when a relationship is broken, it is for the best. We must not only leave the shattered pieces strewn about for fear of further damage, but close our eyes as we tiptoe through the remaining shards.
